Knitting. Knitting is an aged old craft of making a knitted fabric from yarn using a pair of knitting needles. Knitting has been around for thousands of years, stemming back to ancient Egypt. What is knitting? Very basically, knitting is creating a knit fabric by repeatedly pulling one loop of yarn through another. There are two basic stitches in knitting the knit stitch and the purl stitch. The difference is if you pull the yarn through the back of a loop or through the front. All other stitches in knitting are derived from these two basic stitches. What is fun about knitting is as you get better, you can start designing and creating your own clothes in the styles and colors you choose. You can take a basic sweater and add bell sleeves or a hood for example. You can also learn how to design original patterns in time.
